End of the Summer Barbecue
August 16th
5:00-7:00
| |
Most people enjoy the early weeks of summer when the possibilities for travel, gardening, fishing, reunions, and other activities keep us all going at a frantic pace. I, however, enjoy the end of summer. I relish the long shadows of the early mornings and evenings. I appreciate the lawns that don’t need quite as much care as those in early summer. They still need watering, especially this year, but they do with more managing than revitalizing. The end of summer has a wonderful reflective feel to it as well.
The same is true of “end of summer events.” They provide an opportunity to share and reflect on the summer’s serendipitous moments… those experiences that you have could have never imagined back in May.
On Wednesday, August 16th, Lake of the Isles will be hosting an end of the summer barbecue on the patio from 5:00-7:00. We will provide the burgers, brats, hotdogs and beverages, and we invite you to bring a summer time side to share. Diane LaMere will provide fun and games for families to enjoy such as corn hole and other outdoor activities. It will be a fun event to wrap up summer. Look for an email with an RSVP and sign up for side dishes. We hope you can join us.
