Road to Victory: Celebrating Year Five
Greetings!

It's our anniversary.

After five years of operation, I'm so proud to announce that The Portico Cafe is still in business.

In short, we have survived:

  • In spite of the shutdown

  • In spite of layoffs

  • In spite of staff reductions

Even before the pandemic, a restaurant was one of the most challenging businesses one could start, much less maintain.

And we're still here--like Antwone Fisher.
The Road to Victory

We've journeyed through many storms on the road to a victorious future, and we continue to thrive.

We continue to employ the formerly unsheltered and provide job training through The Portico Cafe.

We continue to provide safe affordable housing for homeless working men through Portico Housing Solutions.

You, and this community, are the "we" that allows us to continue to work in our mission.

Yes, I'm totally biased, but I truly believe that the work we do here at The Portico is exceptional.

Peace,

Chalette M. Davis

Mindi's Build Day-TEAM OF TEN
7:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Saturday, Jun. 4

Last month's Habitat build was an amazing day of community service. What a delight it was to watch Mindi walk through the floor plan and point out rooms in her future home.

Join the team that will continue building the home of one of our success stories at The Portico.

Join us for our build day on Saturday, June 4.

We're so grateful for the group of volunteers that supported our last build and we'd like to host a final build day before Mindi's house is ready for dedication.

This June 4 build is a limited team build day for
ten volunteers.

Thank you for your months of dedicated service!
