POWAB Celebrates Resilience & Diversity:
Sharing Special Holiday Moments
The POWAB Annual Holiday Celebration was a marvelous virtual time of fellowship as we played games, had a dinner comedy show, spoken word reflections, honored partners, and celebrated both POWAB 2021 accomplishments and POWAB’s interfaith diversity. We had 35 members, partners, and guests in attendance.
I am truly graterful to all POWAB's membership, partners, and friends who attended this virtual event. I am extremely appreciative for the Events and Logistics Committee, who worked diligently as a team to support the efforts to make our 2021 Holiday Celebration a success.
I have received numberous acknowlegments via, phone, texts, and emails.
it is clear that the success of Annual POWAB Holiday Celebration was possible only through efforts of my A-TEAM. I was blessed.
Special thanks are owed to the Events and Logtics Committee for pushing through with me to the finish line. Terrell Powell did an amazing job leading the development of the “Celebration: POWAB Greatness” Slideshow. Donald Burch III was outstanding in his emcee role. Thanks to T'Wana Holmes for facilitating our “What POWAB Means to Me” word puzzle game. Valerie Bloomfield, coordinated the " Celebration: POWAB Interfaith Diversity," and made the vision to be inclusive of our interfaith members a reality. Reaction to that segman was particularly positive.
It was fantastic Annual Holiday Celebration. We are thankful to be the chosen vehicles and give total praise as we leave 2021 and look to 2022 to continue the more significant work we have been called to do!
With Gratitude,
Gertie Williams,
POWAB Co-Lead Events and Logistics Committee

From Al-Qur'aan Al-Kareem (The Qur'aan, Generous) Surah Al Imran Ayat 45-48. (Chapter Family of Imran Verses 45-48
[QK 3:45] When the angels said: O Marium, surely Allah gives you good news with a Word from Him (of one) whose name is the Messiah, Isa son of Marium, worthy of regard in this world and the hereafter and of those who are made near (to Allah).
[QK 3:46] And he shall speak to the people when in the cradle and when of old age, and (he shall be) one of the good ones.
[QK 3:47] She said: My Lord! how shall there be a son (born) to me, and man has not touched me? He said: Even so, Allah creates what He pleases; when He has decreed a matter, He only says to it, Be, and it is.
[QK 3:48] And He will teach him the Book and the wisdom and the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel).
