News You Need To Know
Weekend Edition
If you've been following (or not) the impeachment "trial" of Donald John Trump, President of the United States, you know we are (re)living in extraordinary times. The US House of Representatives have sent their Impeachment Managers to make the case against the President on grounds he has betrayed his Constitutional duty to protect and defend the United States of America. Will the GOP majority Senate listen or will they bury their heads in the sand and ignore overwhelming evidence of his wrong doing?

His time is up, we deserve better. We deserve elected officials who will exercise their oath of office to represent the people, protect and defend the US Constitution and do no harm. If YOU want to ensure candidates throughout Marion County, statewide and nationwide uphold their oath then we invite you to get involved today to help elect candidates that will promote our Democratic platform and values.

MCDCC has six committees that need your help! Please check out the committees and see where you can make a difference today. Not sure which committee best suits you? Join us at the next General Membership monthly meeting where you can talk to the Chair of each committee for more information about their goals.
Our Commitment to Keep You Informed
by Evan Sorce, Chair

We changed the format of how we communicate with MCDCC membership last year, moving from bland emails via VAN to using Constant Contact's "newspaper" style format. We have reviewed the initial open and click through rates (measures of effectiveness) for 2019 and they tell us our strategy is working.

We will continue striving to always do better in our communications. The newsletter is proving to be a valuable tool in our communication toolbox.

Initial results show our open rate averages 44.7% and click through rate averages 16.1%. For comparison, Constant Contact provides monthly industry standards for us to compare our success. For our sector, political/membership organizations, the average open rate is 20.9, click through rate is 6.69. That's good news!

These numbers tell us we are sending you information of interest, in a timely fashion and in an accessible format. However, not everyone is opening their email or utilizing the vast amount of information and resources we are making available. We hope you will help change that!

We send the newsletter approximately every two weeks. On occasion we may send special notices, breaking news and weekend editions. We don't want to overload your email box but want to keep you informed.

We are always open to your suggestions on how we can continue to best serve our membership in fulfillment of our mission. Please send your ideas to us at info@mariondemocrats.org.

Thanks for reading the newsletter and clicking through to find ways to engage in electing Democrats throughout Marion County. Please share the newsletter with your friends and family. The more we get our message out there the more helpers we have to win!
