TIBERINO Family Legacy: West Philly History Celebrated at Ultra Silk Gallery

Ellen Tiberino is the namesake of the matriarch of the Tiberino family. She was also one of the exhibitors of Ultra Silk Gallery's Art Exhibit titled "TIBERINO: The Legacy Continues", celebrating her family’s art legacy in Philadelphia. The Tiberino family has a long history particularly in West Philadelphia, known for celebrating culture, politics and activism. Regarding her film, Dr. Bailey says, "I have been seeing this trend of young women coming in and being diagnosed with breast cancer.” She recalled, "I said, 'Something has to give. Something has to happen.' I wanted to get the information out there regarding breast cancer and young women because we think we're so young, it won't touch us. Unfortunately, it does touch us."
