Prayer for Great Plains Lutheran High School
Heavenly Father, as we enjoy special opportunities this Lenten season to sit at your feet and contemplate your Son’s passion, we thank you for all schools, such as Great Plains Lutheran High School, where students daily have the opportunity to hear your word and grow in your grace. Bless all those who faithfully serve in our schools. May the knowledge that you have overcome sin and death through Christ Jesus uplift us, empower us, and move us to run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
Honor Society Grade School Tournament

Spring Concert
Join us Sunday, March 8 at 3:30 p.m . for the GPL Spring Concert. GPL music students, both instrumental and vocal, will perform in the GPLHS gymnasium. If you are not able to join us in person you can watch online at the link below.

2020-2021 School Year Registration
It's time to prepare for the 2020-2021 school year! The new student application process and returning student registration process began February 1, 2020. More information can be found at . The early registration fee of $150 will increase to $300 as of May 1, 2020. Register now.
Winter Activities Awards Banquet
The awards banquet for our winter activities students and families will be held on Sunday, March 8 immediately following the Spring Concert. Participants in girls and boys basketball, cheerleading and the One Act play will be recognized.

GPL Honor Society Blood Drive
The second Red Cross blood drive of the year is scheduled for Wednesday, March 25 from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.  Please take note of the time. Schedule an appointment by calling the school office at 605-886-0672 or by clicking the link below. Be sure to select the GPLHS blood drive for your appointment. Honor Society hopes to see you on March 25 in the gym for the final blood drive of this school year.

GSI Thrift Annual Meeting
GSI Thrift will hold its annual meeting at Pizza Ranch on Sunday, March 1 at 3:00 p.m . (eating around 4:00 p.m.) The meeting will include the approval of disbursement recommendations, the election of board members and reports from the GSI board president and store manager. Individuals interested in GSI are invited and encouraged to attend.
GPLHS Summer Camps
Camp information is available at or the links below. You can download information and registration forms. Be sure to fill out and send your forms in quickly. Camp slots fill up fast. Below are the dates for this year’s camps.

Panther Booster Club Meeting
The Panther Booster Club will meet on Thursday, March 12 at 7:00 p.m. All families are welcome to come to the meeting as we take a look at the blessings from this year’s concession seasons and consider how these gifts can be best put to use at GPLHS for our students and programs.
Honor Choir Tour
The GPLHS Honor Choir will be on tour two different weekends this month in several areas. Check the schedule below to see if they will be near you!
  • 3-14 St. Paul’s, Valley City, ND 11 a.m.
  • 3-14 Our Savior’s, Bismarck, ND 4 p.m.
  • 3-15 Redeemer, Mandan, SD 9 a.m.

WELS West Region Band Fest at GPLHS
Great Plains Lutheran High School will be the host school for the 60th Annual WELS Band Festival. The festival band will be made up of approximately 80 students from 9 WELS Area Lutheran High Schools. The concert, featuring music “From Sea to Shining Sea,” will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the GPLHS gymnasium and everyone is welcome to attend the concert. Host Families Needed for Band Students
Watertown area families: approximately 40 host families will be needed to host students for the WELS Band Festival the evenings of Thursday, March 19th through the morning of Sunday March 22nd . Most students will leave following the concert on the 22nd but a limited number of hosts will also be needed for the evening of March 22nd. More information is available from Mrs. Miller in the GPL office by emailing or calling 886-0672.
Wish List Item
The GPLHS dormitory is in need of some new mattresses. For every $150 we receive we will be able to purchase one new mattress. Join with a friend. Outfit a whole dorm room. You can donate to this item at the link below and designate your gift to ‘Wish List: Dorm Mattress’ or call 605-886-0672 and ask for Liz. 

Ready to Take in a Show?
A bratty young orphan, a grief-stricken widower, a sickly young recluse, a cantankerous gardener and a free-spirited young roamer. What could all of these people possibly have in common? They all have a need for a little magic. The kind of magic that can be found in friendship, a purpose, and love. Come to our spring play production of The Secret Garden April 2-4 to find out how a secret garden, and a robin, unite all of these very different people in a very special way.
