GPLHS Monthly Update
October 2020
Prayer for Great Plains Lutheran High School
Lord of the church and Life of your people, bless our Christian education efforts – the training carried out in our homes, in our congregations, and through the ministry of Great Plains Lutheran High School. Give zeal and energy to parents and teachers, and health and eagerness to children and students as they grow in knowledge and in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you for those who support the mission of Great Plains Lutheran so that this ministry of nurturing students as lifelong disciples of Christ may continue – all to the glory of God.

Fall Festival - We've Got Big News
This year's Fall Festival will be held Saturday, November 14 from 1:30 to 6:00 p.m. in the GPLHS gymnasium. This year we will be celebrating 25 years of ministry and we will be launching our new mobile bidding platform. COVID permitting, we will still meet in person but we have eliminated the need for paper and pencil bids. You can sign in and bid on items on your own smartphone or be assisted by our volunteer bid clerks at convenient stations around the auction. This means that EVERYONE can participate in Fall Festival even if you are not able to join us in person. You can find out more information and register to be ready to bid by clicking here.
Facility Expansion Update
As the 2020-2021 school year began, activities inside and outside the GPL school building had something in common. In both cases the foundation was being laid for many years of Christian service. As students built on the foundation of God’s Word in classes and activities, foundation work was also being done for our facility expansion. Activity began in the area where our chapel, auditorium and music room will be built. Some existing equipment was relocated, initial site work was completed, and trenches were dug where footings and foundations will be poured. This foundation work will continue through mid-October. Similar work in the area of our new kitchen and dining area will begin in early October.

It has been exciting for students and all of us to see this progress! If you are in the neighborhood, stop by and take a look.

Keep Reforming your Giving - All to God's Glory
Why do you give offerings? This can refer to offerings at church, at GPLHS, or at any other ministry. Do you give because you feel that as a member, you should? Do you give because you (and others) need to ante up or the ministry won’t continue? Or do you give offerings for another reason?
