What is “Friends of the Library?”

Friends of the Library is a group of community volunteers dedicated to supporting library activities!

Did you know that the Simcoe Branch is the largest in the Norfolk County? And it currently doesn't have a Chapter! We believe that creating one would be a valuable asset to the Norfolk County Public Library, and we are calling on the support of community members to make it happen.

We are hosting an information session for those interested in learning more, so whether you're a library lover, a volunteer extraordinaire, or a curious community member, we'd love for you to join us. Let’s brainstorm ideas, meet new friends, and discuss how we can make a difference together.

Click here to register for one of our Vision Board Making Workshops! We'll provide materials, like old books, magazines, and other treasures, to create the perfect vision of your future. You'll get to use our Cricut and Vinyl Cutters to add a personal touch. Get ready to set some goals and manifest your dreams for this brand new year!

Family Literacy Day!

Celebrate Family Literacy Day with us!

Family Literacy Day takes place every January 27th to raise awareness about the importance of reading and engaging in other literacy-related activities as a family.

The theme for Family Literacy Day in 2024 is Let’s have a family party so that’s what we’re doing!

Join the Library mascot Branches and Paw Patrol's Chase for crafts and games! We even have a special guest: children's book author Nichola Zacher coming to read to you and share her heartwarming story of love and hope in Marley's Dream Love. Hear about the many adventures of Marley the shorkie, a special dog who gives everyone she meets lots of love and hope!
