We are re-sharing with you our first installment of the Employment First Toolkit! Unfortunately, many people told us it ended up in their spam folder - we want to make sure you see this!
Welcome to your toolkit!
Greetings!

Greetings from Life’sWork of Western PA!

As a partner in serving the community of individuals with disabilities (and those facing other barriers to employment), we know that finding resources for those individuals can be challenging, especially during this lingering pandemic. We are excited to announce a new tool that we believe will make your job easier.

To help ease the burden of researching the availability of services and employment opportunities, Life’sWork will share a brief, bi-monthly communication to highlight opportunities within our organization providing you with access to current openings in our programs, highlights of individuals we serve, and other information about our employees, business partners and outcomes.

We want this resource to be a handy, helpful asset for you to minimize your stress with finding the right provider, relevant resources and the best opportunity for your clients. With over 93 years of experience, Life’sWork continues to serve the community to help individuals achieve a life of purpose and self-esteem that comes with having a job.

It would be our pleasure to assist you with finding the appropriate services unique to your situation. If you know of someone who could benefit from this information, please feel free to share.

Sincerely,
Chris Phelps, MBA

Open Opportunities
  • Prinzo & Associates: Our client Peter needed 600 hours of supervised experience to be able to complete his CPA license. Matt at Prinzo & Associates, a local established Certified Public Accounting Firm, embraced the opportunity and hired Peter at his office in the South Hills Area. If you're interested in an opportunity like this, contact our job coaches!
  • TREK Development Group: Eugene was a part of our Mobile Work Crew, a segment of our Small Group Staffing program that traveled around in teams to do light janitorial and maintenance work. Seeking a more independent opportunity, Life'sWork coaches found an opportunity with our partners at TREK for Eugene to take his skills to an integrated role at their office. Our job coaches can find similar placements for you!
  • UPMC Supply Chain: Our Small Group Staffing teams go out in groups of 3-4 clients daily to UPMC Supply Chain Management in Warrendale, PA to assemble much needed COVID test kits.
  • Coen Markets (formerly Cogo's): We began with 4 store locations 4 days a week and are expanding our services to other store locations. This opportunity brings a variety of industrial cleaning techniques and practices.
