Sophyii's Wish to be a Nurse | | | | | |
Sophyii is a sweet girl from Frederick, Maryland. Her mom is her role model, and she’s always been fascinated by the work nurses do. When Sophyii learned that she was eligible for a wish through Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic, her wish was clear: she wanted to be a nurse for a day. To her, being a nurse meant helping others, just like her mom does every day at a local hospital.
She was given her very own light blue scrubs and a stethoscope, making her feel like a true healthcare professional. The day was incredibly special as Sophyii had the chance to be a nurse at Children’s National Hospital, where she is currently receiving treatment.
This experience meant the world to Sophyii. It was about connecting with her mom’s world in a way that made her feel important and empowered. She could see firsthand the care, compassion, and hard work that goes into helping others, and it filled her heart with joy and inspiration.
Sophyii’s story is a reminder of the power of love and resilience. With the support of her mom and her own determination, Sophyii continues to inspire those around her, proving that no matter the challenge, there’s always a way to help others and make a difference in the world.

Their teams came together in such a meaningful way—creating travel kits and friendship bracelets for our wish kids and families. These thoughtful touches make a real difference for families on their wish journeys.
We’re especially thrilled to partner with these incredible companies during World Wish Month.
We are also deeply grateful to our incredible Wish Granting Volunteers. Your compassion, dedication, and unwavering commitment make it possible to bring hope, joy, and unforgettable experiences to the children and families we serve through Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic.
Every hour you give and every effort you make helps turn wishes into reality, creating moments that have a lasting impact far beyond the wish itself.
Thank you for all that you do—you are an essential part of our mission, and we could not do this work without you.

We are deeply grateful to Peraton for their incredible support during the Touch Down for Wishes campaign alongside the Washington Commanders season. With a generous commitment to donate $500 for every touchdown scored, Peraton turned each moment of excitement on the field into meaningful impact off the field—resulting in an outstanding $20,500 raised.

Their partnership is a powerful example of how community and corporate leadership can come together to create life-changing experiences for children facing critical illnesses. Because of Peraton’s support, more wishes can be granted, bringing hope, strength, and joy to the children and families we serve. Thank you, Peraton, for making every touchdown count in such an inspiring way.
