Jesus Letters

Are you easily deceived?

There are many voices that would seek to guide our daily thoughts and decisions. But how easily do we allow those voices to lead us into lies and half-truths?

In this week's letter to the church of Pergamum we'll see that it can be easy to be drawn into deceptions. This letter speaks clearly to our current culture and gives us wisdom for discernment.

Bible Study on The Seven Churches

In conjunction with the sermon series, Pastor George will be leading an in-depth study of the seven churches of Revelation.

This study will go deeper into the symbols of the letters and help us understand how to read and discern the revelation of Jesus found in this book.

The study is held on Tuesdays at 6:30pm at the Linglestown campus.

Opportunities to Serve

Linglestown Life is looking for individuals to serve in the following areas:

Stewardship Workgroup: If you have interest in budgeting, forecasting, and finances our stewardship workgroup can use your help. The group meets monthly for an hour and provides updates to the Leadership Council. For more information please contact Ron Estep.

Facilities Workgroup: If you would like to share your skills related to building maintenance, please contact Sandy Grant. This group meets as needed, but individuals with skills may be called upon when needed.

Sunday School: Are you excited to help young people discover the love of Jesus for them? Then we need you as a regular or occasional teacher or aide in our K-5th grade classes. Learn more by contacting Pastor George.

Nursery Care: We are looking for a group of individuals who are willing to serve in our nursery at 8:30 and 10:00am worship services. If you are willing to serve in this ministry to our families, please contact Sandy Grant.

When you serve at Linglestown Life, you plant a seed that brings about a harvest.

LAHMBs Announcements

Join the Dedication

Linglestown Life’s room at the Tree 4 Hope Academy in Guatemala will be dedicated this July. We would like several representatives from Linglestown Life to be present for the dedication.

A trip to Guatemala is scheduled for July 5-13, with the dedication on July 6. Now is the best time to schedule airline tickets and make plans to be a part of the group traveling in July.

If you are interested in more information, please contact Karen Withrow at [email protected] or 717-856-4810.

Tree 4 Hope is educating young girls who otherwise would not have the opportunity to learn. Our part in funding the school has been accomplished over several years. From the beginning we've been pleased to partner in this project. Consider seeing the school in person and joining the trip.

Hope Academy

Over the past several years Linglestown Life has sponsored 5 girls at Tree 4 Hope's Hope Academy, a bilingual STEAM school for girls in Guatemala. We would like to continue to sponsor them. The scholarship cost is $100/month for each girl. Please contact the church office at [email protected] or 717-545-5200 if you are interesting in helping to sponsor them.

Help Setting Up Chairs Needed

We are in need of volunteers to help set up the chairs for worship on Saturday afternoons or evenings. Two or more people can do this and it can be done in as little as 30 minutes. Please contact the church office at [email protected] or 717-545-5200 if you are able to help with this. Thank you in advance!

Women's Bible Study

Linglestown Life’s Women’s Bible Study will be starting a new six-week study on Monday, January 9th from RightNow Media called God’s Unbreakable Promises. They meet at 9am in Room 103 and they meet every other Monday. For more information contact Joanne Wolowicz at 717-364-5227.

Linglestown EUB Cook Book

In the past when our church was planning on expanding the building, some members put together a cook book to sell in order to pay for the expenses. Each week we will share a recipe or page from the cook book, which was printed in 1948 by the Willing Workers Class of the Evangelical United Brethren Church of Linglestown, PA. The bulletin board inside Janie’s Place will also have the recipes shared. The original cook book is in the office of the Director of Communications (next to the stage in fellowship hall) along with the rest of the historical books and documents the church has. If anyone would like to see them, just let Nick Sallade know!

This week’s recipes start the Meat Dishes and can be found here.
