Sunday Worship, May 24 @ 10:30 am
Rev. Wendy Preaching
"Operating Instructions"
 In this reading from Acts, Luke offers-up the final words of Jesus and his "ascension" into a cloud! His Final Instructions might be considered Operating Instructions for the mission of the church and God's people. Jesus promises that the Spirit will continue to shape the disciples as the Body of Christ. This community is commissioned to do the work of Christ “to the ends of Earth.”
Prayer for This Sunday:
In his final hours, Jesus prayed for those who would follow him saying, “All mine are yours, and yours are mine; I have been glorified in them.”  May the heart of Jesus beat on in us, the beloved community of witnesses. Amen

"The Book of Longings" by Sue Monk Kidd
Virtual Potluck and Discussion
Friday, June 5 - 6 pm
An extraordinary story set in the first century about a woman who finds her voice and her destiny... The book's premise evokes a fascinating question: How would the world be different if Jesus had married and his wife was part of the story?
~~~
Grounded in meticulous research and written with a reverential approach to Jesus’s life that focuses on his humanity, "The Book of Longings" is an inspiring, unforgettable account of one woman’s bold struggle to realize the passion and potential inside her, while living in a time, place and culture devised to silence her.
