The Legacy of the Honorable John Robert Lewis
Representative John Robert Lewis (February 21,1940 – July 17, 2020) was an American politician and civil-rights leader who served in the United States House of Representatives for Georgia's 5th congressional district from 1987 until his death in 2020 from pancreatic cancer.

Former President Barack Obama said:

I’ve come here today because I like so many Americans owe a great debt to John Lewis and his forceful vision of freedom."
Lewis was “a man of pure joy and unbreakable perseverance,”

Former President George W. Bush said:

“He always believed in preaching the Gospel in word and in deed, insisting that hate and fear had to be answered with love and hope,”
The Honorable John Robert Lewis died July 17 at the age of 80.

Over the next months we will be enhancing the content on the POWAB website and the information disseminated on our Facebook page. Each month we will focus on a different topic determined by the executive leadership team.

The internet is constantly changing and evolving and staying relevant and up to date will be the key to POWAB growing its digital footprint. We need your help to grow our presence and achieve our goal.

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is
not made perfect in love.

Inspirational words for

We Celebrate our Seniors!
Mindful Moment Message from the
POWAB Co-Chairs:
Quiet the voice telling you to do more and be more, and trust that in this moment, you are, where you are at, and what you were doing is enough. You will get to where you need to be in your own time. Until then, breathe. Breathe and be patient with yourself and your process. You are doing the best you can to cope and survive amid your struggles, and that’s all you can ask of yourself. It’s enough. You are enough.” Daniell Koepke
