" The Church and the Web of Inter-Connection "
This planet is a much smaller, much more fragile place than the modern era ever imagined... Frederick Buechner compares humanity to a gigantic spider web: "if you touch it anywhere, you set the whole thing trembling .... As we move around this world and as we act with kindness, perhaps, or with indifference, or with hostility, toward the people we meet, we too are setting the great spider web a-tremble... Our lives are [inextricably] linked. No man [no woman] is an island ...." (Frederick Buechner, The Hungering Dark [New York: Seabury Press, 1969], 45-46)

The Church has an opportunity to connect like no other system can - how will we share good news in the face of today's context of cyber speed, isolation, political division and global health concerns?
Prayer for the Third Sunday in Lent:
God, you offer us the water of life. We turn to you in trust, knowing that your faithful provision can meet all our needs. May our gratitude propel us out to share the good news of new life with other thirsty people. Amen.
