Sanctuary & Hillside Worship Series
" STAYCATION: A Summer Spirituality and Sermon Series "
Has the pandemic quashed your big summer vacation travel plans? What better time to opt for a staycation!

Sanctuary and Hillside offer this six-week summer sermon series to boost your spirit and remind you that our mission to love God and love people doesn’t require travel at all. In fact, in times like these, maybe the greatest love one can give is to our own community!

Our Staycation series explores ways we can love and serve others right where we are; and how to view life’s interruptions as opportunities just like Jesus did.
Sunday Worship - August 02 @ 10:30 am
" Wherever You Go, There You Are "
Jesus was intentional, loving, and kind when responding to those who interrupted him in his daily living - right in his own backyard. Truth is, there's no escape - we too can live a life of love and service right where we are.
Prayer for This Sunday:
Increase our faith, O God. The faith of the centurion was pure and true. He believed that you could heal and you healed. Help our unbelief! We put so much trust in modern medicine and human knowledge that we forget that you are the great healer, the great physician! So, we ask you to heal those who are sick today. We believe that you can, and we ask you in faith, believing that you will. We ask you to heal the hurting of our lives, to mend our broken hearts. And while we wait for healing, give us faith and trust to know that we are not forgotten, that you are not far off. Heal us, O God. In faith, we believe. Amen.

ABOUT THE FILM:

On the hottest day of the year on a street in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn, everyone's hate and bigotry smolders and builds until it explodes into violence.

Still essential 30 years later!

Crystal Chandler, leader of Mobilize Medford and documentary director, will be leading this discussion! Learn more about her experience and perspective as a black filmmaker.
