We are pleased to announce that longtime Board Member Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, President & CEO of Celebrity Cruises, is our new Board Chair and Kevin Purvis, Managing Partner of Cothrom Risk & Insurance Services, is our new Vice-Chair. Lisa is an active member of our Alexis de Tocqueville Society and was the 2019 recipient of Women United’s Women of Inspiration award. Kevin is also an active member of our Alexis de Tocqueville Society and has been a dedicated volunteer for 15 years.

Congratulations to Sabrina Sweet, US Navy Veteran and United Way of Broward County's MISSION UNITED Engagement Specialist, on her historic election to become the first Black female Veteran to be appointed to the Executive Board of the Broward Veterans Coalition, and to our Senior Director of Major Gifts & Legacy Giving, Kristian White, for being selected as an honoree for Lifestyle Media Group's 2022 Fort Lauderdale ROCKSTAR Awards. We are immensely proud of their achievements!

ReadingPals is Looking for Volunteers

Earlier this month, we held our first in-person ReadingPals volunteer training since 2019. Do you have ONE hour a week to change a life? Become a ReadingPals volunteer! ReadingPals are mentors who use books and conversation to build the language skills of students in Pre-K through Third Grade. Suicide Prevention, Intervention and Postvention: Best Practices for Behavioral Health and Social Services

United Way of Broward County’s MISSION UNITED invites you to join us for our Broward County Veteran Stand Down at Nova Southeastern University – Davie, Carl DeSantis Building (3301 College Ave., Davie, FL 33314). During the event, Veterans will be able to obtain the following services for FREE: housing, healthcare, education, employment, mental health, screenings, dental services, legal services, food security, hygiene and driver’s license reinstatement.
