LIBRARY NIGHT WITH SF GIANTS

Join us on April 7 for Library Night at the San Francisco Giants! Cheer on the Giants while supporting a great cause—$5 from each ticket sold will directly benefit the Friends of the Redwood City Public Library, helping to fund vital library initiatives. Don’t miss this exciting night of baseball, community, and library advocacy. Grab your tickets today and root for the Giants while making a difference!


The Giants encourage guests to stop by China Basin Park, across from McCovey Cove, before catching the game. You’ll find books, kids activities, library card signups, and more from library systems around the Bay Area.

LIBRARY FOUNDATION GAME NIGHT

Support the Library at Family Game Night!


Play bingo and trivia. Solve a library mystery puzzle. Enjoy snacks, prizes, and more!


When: April 1, 2025 from 6:30-8:00pm in the Community Room at the Downtown Library


Tickets are $30 each (children under 10 admitted free with adult ticket). Ticket donation includes 2 bingo cards. Tickets required for entry - event will sell out!


Prizes for kids and adults. All ages welcome!


This event celebrates national Library Giving Day and is hosted by the Redwood City Library Foundation.

NEWS FROM THE FRIENDS

Do you have gently used books, CDs, DVDs, puzzles, video games, or albums taking up too much space in your home? Make a difference by donating them to the Friends Donation Event on March 15 at 10am.


When: Saturday, March 15

Where: Two locations:

Downtown Library – 1044 Middlefield Road from 10am-12pm

Redwood Shores Branch Library – 399 Marine Parkway from 10-11:30am


How Your Donations Help: Donated books will be sold in our bookstore, with proceeds directly supporting community library events and programs.


Important: Puzzles must be complete, and all items should be in very good condition.

RethinkWaste Trash to Art Contest


Every school year, RethinkWaste hosts the Trash to Art Contest. There are TWO contest categories for individual students and class groups in 3rd through 5th grade. 2024-25 Redwood City Student Climate Action and Resiliency Video Contest!


The City of Redwood City Environmental Initiatives Program has kicked off its annual student video contest for 6th, 7th and 8th graders to encourage sustainable actions in everyday life. The theme for this year’s contest is “MY GREEN ROUTINE.” Students are asked to make a video about daily actions they can take to combat climate change and make the Earth a better place. The video submission deadline is April 4, 2025.

Small and Micro Business Certification Workshop (Virtual)


Join an informative workshop designed to help local small businesses navigate the State’s small and micro business certification process.The County of San Mateo is partnering with the State’s Office of Small Business and Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise Services to provide technical support to local for-profit vendors to become certified and learn how to access government contract opportunities.

Bay Area Medical Academy Workshop


The Bay Area Medical Academy's Medical Assisting with Phlebotomy & EKG class is now accepting applications. To qualify, applicants must be low to moderate income, have a high school diploma or GED, and have at least one full-course vaccination for COVID-19. The class is open to incorporated Redwood City residents and will begin on Monday, March 31st, 2025.
