FROM THE DESK OF BOB DUMAIS:
Dear Robert,
The other day, I was putting together a crib for my granddaughter. It came with a whole lot of parts—and I’ll admit, I’m not the type who usually reads the directions. But after about 15 minutes of frustration, I set my ego aside and reached for the instruction manual. I’m happy to report that we had a successful build and a happy ending.
I share that little story because retirement can feel a lot like that crib—plenty of parts, and not always easy to assemble without clear guidance. That’s why we created the Passport to Retirement. It is a simple and practical guide designed to help you navigate the many pieces of the retirement puzzle—so you can enjoy the life you’ve worked so hard for.
You can access the guide by clicking the link below. It is a downloadable PDF. You can print it out or simply use it as a workbook. The Passport to Retirement is meant to help you, not stress you. If you choose to use it, our hope is that it helps clarify your thinking and gives you greater peace of mind during this exciting (yet sometimes overwhelming) stage of life.
Several months ago, a gentleman called LBA. I said hello, and he said, “I'm 73 years old, I’m not married, I don’t have any children. I’ve wanted to retire for a long time, but I didn’t know how, so I just kept working. Can you help me?” There are many valid reasons people choose to delay retirement—but not knowing how to navigate the process shouldn’t be one of them. That gentleman is now a client.
We don’t want you to be stuck in uncertainty simply because retirement feels too complicated. That’s why LBA will be introducing a new type of seminar this Fall centered around a simple but powerful message: “Retirement is a Process, Not an Event.” (Date and location to be announced.) In this seminar, we’ll walk you through the Passport to Retirement guide step by step and show you how it can bring confidence and clarity to your planning process.
When you're ready, reach out to Legacy Benefit Advisors. One of our advisors will be happy to meet with you at no cost, to reduce your stress, and to guide you toward a retirement plan designed just for you. And if you've spent some time with your Passport to Retirement guide when we meet, it'll make for a great conversation starter.
Be well,
Bob Dumais
