20th Annual Golf Tournament a Success!
Many enjoyed a beautiful day at the Concord Country Club on September 11th, while golfing for our Youth Mentoring Program cause. $16,500 was raised that will directly benefit those at-risk youth in our Program.
Pictured is the 2017 Putting Contest Winner, Carla Nielson (left) and friend celebrating Carla's win.
Thanks to all who golfed and sponsored in making this a fun day.

Heritage Harley-Davidson BBQ Thank You
A BIG Thank You to those that stopped by the Community BBQ on September 30th to support the Friends Youth Mentoring Program. It was cold and wet but a lot of fun.
We raised $300 to support the Youth Mentoring Program and had enough donated food and drinks left over at the end of the day to support upcoming Youth Mentoring Halloween Parties, as well as to share with the Friends Emergency Housing family shelter & the Friendly Kitchen.
This event would not have been a success if the following people and organizations had not stepped up to donate baked goods, BBQ items, drinks and their time - Concord Chapter Ladies of Harley, Christ Church PCA, Panera Bread, Allen Desbiens, Nancy Paul, and Bri Milligan.
Of course, thank you to Heritage Harley-Davidson for their generosity in hosting.
Emergency Housing Success Story
The Harris family came to the Friends Emergency Housing Program as a newly intact family, looking for an opportunity for a new beginning. A stable place to live and learn together was the topsoil in which they sowed the seeds for their future. They exited our program an intact family, with Richard and Christine getting married during their stay.
Like many of our families they came with next to nothing, and with very little money. They dealt with the trials and tribulations of a rocky past, and what it meant to be homeless. They left with a newfound confidence, with skills and connections to succeed.
Federal Proposal to Fund Foster
Grandparent & RSVP Programs
Our Senior Programs are National Service programs, operated under Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) grant funding combined with a local funding match.
In mid-September, t
he Senate Appropriations Committee passed the FY18 Labor, Health and Human Services Appropriations bill, which contains level funding for the Foster Grandparent and Senior Corps Programs.
This is good news but the struggle is not over.
Contact your Congressional
today. Let them know that National Service is important to you and NH. Encourage them to act to ensure that these programs continue to be funded.
National service is about extraordinary acts of ordinary citizens here in NH. We see this every day in the time given by Foster Grandparents, Caregivers, and RSVP volunteers.
Thank you for your support.
