Ledyard Rotary funds more than $102,000 in support of community needs over the past 5 years!

For the past 25 years, the Ledyard Rotary and its sister organization, the Ledyard Rotary Foundation, have supported numerous charities and non-profit organizations within our local community and beyond.

In the past 5 years alone, more than $102,000 has been donated to various organizations. The larger donations have been:

  • $20,500 to High School College and Vocational Scholarships;
  • $15,500 to the Ledyard Food Pantry;
  • $9,300 to Rotary International Polio eradication campaign;
  • $7,500 to International Water Projects;
  • $5,000 to Riverfront Children Center Scholarship Program;

  • $4,000 to Always Home to Purchase Gas Cards for Wheels to Work Program;

Smaller donations, but just as important to our community;
  • $1,250 given to the Terri Brouder Breast Cancer Foundation;
  • $1,000 was given to the Ledyard Police to purchase 12 Carter Kits used to calm children during stressful emergencies;
  • $1,000 was given to Tri-Town Trails for fencing and signage for Spicer Ruins Project;
  • $1,000 given to Ledyard Beautification Committee to replace photo banners;
  • $1,000 given to Ledyard High Music to expand the marching band front ensemble system;
  • $650 for Ledyard High School Book Club to purchase new books.

Only thru the generous support of the Ledyard community is Ledyard Rotary and Ledyard Rotary Foundation able to support these numerous critical needs. Fundraising has been achieved through generous individual donations, as well as proceeds from the Annual Car Cruise held Labor Day Weekend, the Ledyard Laffle Raffle, the Ledyard Rotary Bowlathon, and several other sponsored events.

Continued community support is critical! So, when you are able:

BLOOD DRIVE - SUCCESS - THANK YOU
The Ledyard Congregational Church and the Ledyard Rotary Club wish to thank all who participated in yesterday’s blood drive. Joseph Olzacki from the Red Cross said, “ Yesterday's drive was a huge success. With 33 people coming to donate (walk-ins were so helpful) we collected 31 pints of blood. That translates into 93 people who will receive critical life-sustaining blood. What a great drive and great people. We are so thankful for your hard work and dedication in making this drive successful”
