Who Is Friends of MADACC?

We are all Friends of MADACC.

More specifically, Friends of MADACC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting community awareness and improving the welfare of Milwaukee County's homeless animals.

Our objectives include:

  • Placement - helping more animals find loving, forever homes.
  • Enrichment - improving quality of life for animals.
  • Education - promoting community awareness.

Some of our impacts:

  • Fundraised over $25,000 for Operation Sunshine, a campaign to build outdoor kennels at MADACC.
  • Delivered humane education messages to youth, presenting to over 200 kids.
  • Began training Battle Against Dogfighting's (BAD) "Pit Crew" team, a group of dedicated volunteers and their breed ambassador dogs for future outreach efforts.
  • Promoted Shelter Stars Showcase and Purr-fect Paws Cat & Kitten Adoption Events at MADACC.
  • Held "Peace for Paws" block parties and provided free training advice, dog care items, and spay/neuter vouchers.
  • Funded 24 spay/neuter surgeries performed on National Spay Day, February 22.
  • Increased community partnerships in order to reach more members of the public and better address misconceptions about MADACC and proper pet care. Organizations include the Milwaukee Police Department, Safe & Sound, the Wisconsin Humane Society's Youth Advocates group, and Central Bark.
  • Promoted the importance of reporting dogfighting.
  • Provided educational resources at over 30 booths throughout metro Milwaukee in 2011 alone. We estimate that we have reached over 6,000 adults and children.
  • Facilitated shots fair, including low-cost rabies vaccinations and microchips.

Meet our board members:

Friends of MADACC is grateful to all of the staff members and volunteers who are dedicated to the animals of MADACC and increasing awareness of responsible pet guardianship. We can all accomplish more together than individually, so please feel free to reach out and contact any one of us if you would like to get involved in fundraising efforts, education & outreach, marketing, or helping out at an event!
