Principal Shabazz's September FOP Presentation Recap:

Parent involvement — Studies have shown that parental involvement in their child's school positively influences their child. Thanked parents/guardians for all they do.

Introductions of her team — Mr Parker, Dr Ansari, Ms Moon-Sarudi and Mr Arabie. Also introduced Mr. Lambda, post-secondary coach & admissions and Ms. Akporido, post-secondary coach.

Payton Pulse — Her weekly newsletter is emailed on Monday nights, unless there is no school on a Monday.

School Safety — Be cautious when dropping students off in the morning and remind your student to also be cautious and aware approaching school. They should not hold doors open for people they do not know. A lockdown drill will occur soon.

Attendance — The goal this year is 95% attendance. Last year, it was 93%. Tardies have also significantly declined, due to steps the school has taken. Policies can be viewed here. A reminder that all absences and tardies appear on the students transcript.

Grizzly Fans Code of Conduct — Please respect the game, respect each other, and make your team and your school proud.

Curriculum Night — Plan to attend next Thursday, September 26 at 6 pm at school.

Next FOP meeting — Invite two friends to the October FOP meeting on October 23 at 6pm on zoom to hear her budget and finance overview.

VOLUNTEER AT OPEN HOUSE: September 28

We need everyone who can help!

We are looking for nearly 70 volunteers to help showcase Payton and welcome prospective middle school students. Volunteers will be fully trained so you will be ready to greet, guide and answer questions from prospective families! Volunteer shifts are between: 9am-1pm

BECOME AN ANNUAL APPEAL AMBASSADOR

Our Annual Appeal Co-Chairs are looking for ambassadors to join our team!  Our Ambassadors ensure we connect effectively with all our Payton families regarding the important role of raising much needed funds for our school. We are looking for behind the scenes and outreach roles, so there is something for everyone! No amount of help is too small. Ambassadors will also be invited to an optional information session with Principal Shabazz in October.
