What drives us?

We do it for the children!

Many of our children joined us in the clubhouse for crafting adventures in December. Throughout the month they would come in and create new ornaments for our tree.

From Minions to Gingerbread, their creativity was on display as the children in our program created decorations to turn the clubhouse tree into a one-of-a-kind art exhibit.

We were proud to see many successes throughout the last quarter, from getting Student of the Week, to passing a math test with an "A" for the first time, and we're so proud to be a part of the lives of these amazing children.

Being their Friend means being there for them at school, at home, and in the community. We're honored to be a part of their lives and to celebrate their success.

Healthy Recipe - Holiday Edition

Healthy eating is one way to build up our children and families, but it's important to include treats too! Oatmeal, peanut butter, and dark cocoa all make this a relatively healthy (and easy!) treat to make!

News from the Clubhouse

We are excited to announce that Heather Steinman was named executive director of the nonprofit Friends of the Children - Colorado Springs. “Friends of the Children changes lives," said Mike Edmonds, board chair of the nonprofit. "We welcome Heather in her new role. She is the ideal non-profit leader to advance the mission of Friends and grow our impact in our community. Heather’s reputation has gained her an immense amount of trust and respect.” Steinman replaces Judy Cara who was in the role since 2021. Friends of the Children is a national organization that aims to impact generational change by empowering youth facing the greatest obstacles through relationships with professional paid mentors.
