Dear WONDERFUL Friends, 

As the leaves change and we settle into the cozy embrace of fall, we at the library are excited to share some wonderful updates and events that celebrate the season of transformation. This time of year reminds us of the importance of community, knowledge, and the joy of reading.


We have much going on in the remainder of 2024 and hope to see you! Remember that our membership drive is happening now and will cover your membership for the 2025 calenedar year. Please join as a member and support the Rockwall County Library.


Thank you for being a vital part of our library family. We can’t wait to see you at Flannels and Friendsgiving in November!

NOVEMBER 12 FOL FUNDRAISER

Mark your calendars for our highly anticipated fall fundraiser, Flannels and Friendsgiving! This event promises to be a fantastic day filled with fun, fashion, and friendship. Here’s what you can look forward to:

  • Fall Fashions: Explore a delightful selection of fall attire from local boutiques, perfect for refreshing your wardrobe as the weather cools.
  • Raffle and Door Prizes: Don’t miss your chance to win fabulous prizes! 
  • Delicious Lunch: Enjoy a scrumptious meal from Melissa Tate and Tate Farms. You’ll savor seasonal flavors that celebrate our local bounty.
  • Networking and Community: Bring along a friend (or two!) and enjoy a day of connection and camaraderie with fellow library supporters.

Magnetic Name Tags are available for members for $7.00. Click button below to order.

Nametags are plastic with a magnetic backing. Paper stick on nametags will always be available at Friends meetings.


Nametags ordered by November 5th will be available at the November 12th Fundraiser.

New Neighbors Seeking FRIENDS


This summer, FOL was graced with a BEAUTIFUL donation from H-E-B grocery store! They granted us $10,000! The store will be located at the southwest corner of John King and I-30. We are grateful and look forward to meeting our new FRIENDS. Click the link to read more.

Literacy Center


The Adult Literacy Program has convenient class schedules, including weekend mornings and select evening classes. Tutors are local volunteers and there are no fees for the program classes. There is a small fee for books.


If you have any interest in volunteering as a tutor, please contact the Literacy Center at (972) 204-7705.

Book Alcove


The Book Alcove is accepting book donations every day the Library is open.


Suggested donations are collected and used for library programs. The selection is ever changing, come take a look and bring some books to donate too.

FICTION TITLES ARE NEEDED!

Friends of the Library is proud to partner with Meals on Wheels Senior Services to offer homebound clients books through the Book Alcove. Lynn Fate manages this program and carefully selects books per genre or title requests and they are delivered each month with meal delivery. Donations matter. Keep this in mind as you clean out your collections.


*Fiction titles and large print books are in demand for this program. If you have any to donate, please take to the Library and mark them as "Meals on Wheels." They can be left with the Circulation Desk.
