"We need a little Christmas" musical performance
Saturday, December 3, at 2 p.m.
Join us at the Rowley Public Library on Saturday, December 3 at 2 p.m. for some live music as vocalist Will McMillan and pianist Joe Reid return to perform beloved holiday songs. Many of our favorites were written or co-written by Jewish songwriters. We'll hear hits like "Silver Bells," "White Christmas," and "Winter Wonderland" and hear a few stories behind the music. Pianist Joe Reid enjoys a busy music career, performing with a wide range of jazz and classical musicians. Will McMillan has performed as a featured vocalist at venues such as Scullers Jazz Club, Sanders Theatre, and the John F. Kennedy Library and has released four CDs. Come early- seating is limited! Sponsored by the Friends of the Rowley Public Library.
Student Art on Display in December

This month the students of Parker River will be displaying some collaborative project work of different mediums. In the display case the transitional kindergarten will be showcasing their study of the monarch butterflies' journey to Mexico.

Display your collection at the library!
The Rowley Public Library is looking for collectors and enthusiasts who want to share what they love with the community. Do you collect PEZ dispensers, trains, comic books? We have a display case for that! Are you part of a club, like a knitting group or local bird watchers? Help us educate the community by doing an informational display in our display case. The display case is available for a month at a time, and we still have slots open for 2017. For more information, call Amy Roderick at 978-948-2850 at the Rowley Public Library, 141 Main Street in Rowley.

Friends seek three new Board members
At our Annual Meeting in June 2017, The Friends of the Rowley Public Library, Inc. will need three new Board members to replace the current President and Treasurer, both of whom will be stepping down, and to install a Vice President, a role that has been vacant for a number of years. Officer terms run one year, from July through June, and meetings currently are held every other month. The Friends are forming a Nominating Committee to vet candidates and present a slate of nominees for the members to vote on at that meeting. We invite members of the community who have an abiding interest in supporting our library through fundraising or volunteering at our many annual events to get involved. No prior library experience required - just your ideas, energy and enthusiasm! The current Board is committed to ensuring a smooth transition for new officers. Please email  or contact Pam Jacobson, Library Director, if you are interested.
Join us to find out more at our next meeting, Wednesday, December 14, 7 pm
