Give Back to Our Neighbors In Need
Gather at Kensington Park to kick off the season of giving on the Thursday before Thanksgiving to stuff the truck with donations at the 7th Annual Friendsgiving Celebration to benefit MUM, a local nonprofit supporting our Montgomery County neighbors in need.
- All proceeds will support MUM and provide our neighbors access to food items, medicine, eviction prevention and other services to support problem-solving and self-sufficiency.
Enjoy Thanksgiving treats and beverages made by Executive Chef Morissa.
ACCEPTED DONATIONS:
- Non-perishable items or canned goods
- $25 Gift Cards to Safeway or Giant

Your Donation Could Make a Great Difference This Year!
During the Thanksgiving and Seasonal Holidays
We provide meals for Public Safety Personnel:
Montgomery County Police stationed in this Area
Wheaton Volunteer Rescue Squad
Kensington Volunteer Fire Department
Since 1999, the Wheaton & Kensington Chamber of Commerce has run Holiday on Duty, a program that collects money from the community and provides meals for Public Safety personnel during the holidays.
During these times, most eating establishments are closed in the Wheaton and Kensington area. Many public safety workers are handling various emergencies and may find it difficult to locate restaurants open for meals while on duty. For most of us, these are holidays. But not for those Public Safety personnel – they are on duty.
The Chamber urges everyone to donate to this program to say “Thank You” to those who work to protect us while we are celebrating the holidays with family and friends.

Angels for Children 2022 Toy Drive – 24th Anniversary
This Toy Drive has provided toys for the less fortunate children in the Wheaton area for the past 23 years.
Donations of toys are delivered to local children for Christmas by Santa and his helpers.
- Without community support, this tremendous project would not be possible.
We ask for donations of unwrapped toys, sports items, craft kits, books, gift cards, and money to purchase more items.

With a wide selection of film screenings and educational panels, the online 8th Annual Wheaton Film Festival is a great event that screens short films and provides film educational panels.
There are two different types of tickets:
General Admission Tickets: Available to purchase until November 19, 2022
All Access: to ALL film screenings, educational panels, online networking event, the awards ceremony, and replays.
- Replays are available through December 19, 2022 and include all film screenings, educational panels, and the awards ceremony.
- One rate: $20 available until November 19, 2022
