Dear FAA Family,
Last week was a short week due to Dr. King Day on Monday, an emergency closure due to inclement weather on Tuesday, and All-Staff Professional Development on Friday. These three major events overshadowed Paraprofessional Appreciation Week, which also took place last week. However, we have not forgotten the amazing work paraprofessionals do each day. That’s why we are dedicating this week to recognizing and showing appreciation for all paraprofessionals.
We are fortunate to have some of the best paraprofessionals. In addition to providing academic support to teachers, our paraprofessionals go above and beyond to nurture, care for, and show love to all scholars. They play an integral role in educating scholars and upholding our mission and vision.
I want to take this time to extend our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all paraprofessionals, especially the incredible men and women who show up each and every day for our scholars and families.
February 10, 2025, is National African American Parent Involvement Day. I encourage all of our parents to mark this day on your calendar, as we would love to see you come in and volunteer. Research shows that parent involvement not only increases students' academic performance but also reduces negative behavior, boosts self-esteem, and enhances motivation, among other benefits.
We understand that everyone has busy schedules, but your presence on this day would be greatly appreciated—not only by our staff but also by our scholars.
Look forward to seeing you on February 10, 2025.
Yours,
Carr S. Kpanyor, Jr
Interim Executive Director
