Dear FAA Family,

I can’t believe it’s already here—FAA’s Annual Wax Museum program! This Thursday, February 27, 2025, we will host our biggest event of the year. During the Wax Museum, scholars research and portray wax figures of prominent African Americans, both past and present. As part of the program, they will stand or sit like statues and “come to life” when touched, sharing a brief biography of the person they represent.

This year’s event will also serve as a fundraiser for our school. Please come prepared to donate to this worthy cause. We look forward to seeing you at our Intermediate Site!

READ-A-THON Update

Our READ-A-THON continues this week! Please encourage scholars to read for at least 20 minutes each night and record their reading times on their logs. A tally is completed each Monday morning, and the results are posted on a bar graph.

For Week 3, it looks like 6th grade continues to lead with a total of 6.7 hours of reading recorded for the week of February 10th. We encourage all scholars to take the competition seriously and submit their reading logs to their teachers each Monday morning.

We would also like to extend a special thank you to all the families who joined us last Monday for African American Parent Involvement Day. Your presence made a meaningful impact on our scholars, staff, and administration. Seeing you there truly inspired our scholars to shine.

Additionally, thank you to all families who attended parent-teacher conferences. We deeply value your partnership in your scholar’s education.

Parent Advisory Group – Join Us!

We are looking for parents to form a Parent Advisory Group. The next meeting is scheduled for March 20, 2025. Meals will be provided, and participants at this initial meeting will receive a $50 gift certificate. If you are interested, please contact our Parent Liaison, Lynn Smith at 612-879-6703.
