National Day of Truth and Reconciliation – or Orange Shirt Day – is a day of remembrance commemorating the history of the Indigenous boarding schools and their legacies in North America. It is a federal holiday in Canada, but widely recognized by Native Nations located within the United States as well. You are invited to wear orange and join us at the Culture and Identity Centers at 3pm for a group photo. Following the photo, members of IACSA invite you to volunteer with them at Dayton Metro Library (Main Branch), as readers for an Orange Shirt Day children's story hour at 4pm.

Real Talk...Know Your Rights
Tuesday, October 1, 5:30-7pm
019 Student Union, Culture & Identity Centers
Come find out what real talk is in this “hats off” session with an attorney from Student Legal Services. It’s important that students are apprised of their rights, as well as have an overall understanding of the difference between conduct and legal adjudication, and how to avoid getting entangled in either. When to invoke your rights, your right to representation, and when it is just plain smart to keep your mouth closed. Police are the only body that can legally lie to you in the “furtherance of an investigation.” Not your issue as a student.
