City of waterloo neighbourhoods: strong and connected.

Plan a frightful night in the neighbourhood

There are lots of frightfully fun ways to celebrate fall in your neighbourhood! Here are a few ideas:

  • Fall paint night: Gather your neighbours for a creative evening together.
  • Streetwalking tour: Take a stroll through the neighbourhood to admire the Halloween and fall décor.
  • Halloween Parade: Organize a costume parade to show off the best-dressed monsters and characters!
  • Movie in the Park: Settle under the stars and watch a classic fall or Halloween-themed movie.

🙂 Smile corner 🙂

A neighbour shared how they love to stargaze at Lexington Park. It can be the perfect view.

Share with us what makes you smile! Submit a photo and a caption by replying to this email, and we might feature it in the Smile Corner of our next newsletter!

Get inspired

Connect with neighbours, year-round!

At the start of fall, neighbours in the Mary Allen neighbourhood came together to celebrate with a neighbourhood picnic, games, a cotton candy machine and a movie night! It was a great way to enjoy the cooler weather while catching up after a busy summer season!

Even as the weather gets colder, you can find ways to connect with neighbours, both indoors and outdoors! Skate nights are a popular way to bring neighbours together over skating and a cup of hot chocolate.

Want some help to make it happen? These types of events are perfect for mini grant funding.
