Ribbon to Honor the Fallen
On Korean War Veterans Armistice Day on Thursday, July 27, 2023, you can honor the fallen by adding a black ribbon to your U.S. flag if you are unable to fly it at half-staff. When honoring fallen heroes, one tradition is to drape a black ribbon over the American flag as a symbol of mourning and gratitude. By draping a black ribbon on the American flag, we pay tribute to the brave men and women who have given their lives in service to our country.

Golf Cart Reminders
By city ordinance, golf carts can be driven on city streets with a speed limit of 35 mph or less as long as they meet the following criteria:
- The driver must have insurance for the golf cart.
- The golf cart must have headlights, taillights, reflectors, and a slow-moving vehicle emblem.
- Golf carts are for licensed drivers only and must observe traffic laws. If the golf cart is crossing at a designated crossing zone, then the vehicle crosswalk rules apply. This means the golf cart has the right-of-way if they are in the crosswalk when the car approaches. However, they are not allowed to suddenly drive out in front of a car that is lawfully on the roadway.
- Golf carts cannot be driven on roads that have speed limits higher than 35 mph, but they can cross such roads. Golf carts cannot be driven on sidewalks (other than golf course paths designated for golf carts).
Unlicensed minors are not allowed to sit on laps nor drive golf carts. You can be ticketed by the Frisco Police Department.

Adaptive Fitness Week 3
This Week's Question Came From a Voicemail to the Fitness Director: I just had back surgery and am now recovering. What classes would be good for me?
Answer: If you have received clearance from your medical team to start moving outside of their care, we suggest the Group-Ex Chair and/or Therapy Classes (see Adaptive Fitness Classes below). As you continue to recover, always remember this phrase, “maintain spine precaution.” Your initial goal is made up of two part: (1) Find out what you can do and (2) Find out what you like to do. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Attend one of these Adaptive Fitness Classes:
- Monday at 8:00 a.m. - Sit & B Fit
- Monday at 10:00 a.m. - Yoga with Chair
- Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. - Sit & B Fit
- Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. - Dance 4 Fun
- Thursday at 8:00 a.m. - Yoga with Chair
- Thursday at 10:00 a.m. - Chair Qi Gong
- Friday at 9:00 a.m. - Dance 4 Fun
- Friday at 10:00 a.m. - Stretch & Balance with a Chair
- Saturday at 10:00 a.m. - Fun & Fit Therapy Aqua (NOTE: this is a great example of a low-impact class because exercising in a pool allows the water to support your body weight, thus, lifting a great deal of the weight off your back)

Frisco Lakes Website vs. Active Net
The Community Association office receives a number of questions about the Frisco Lakes website (www.friscolakes.net) versus Active Net. These are two separate websites. Active Net is the activity registration website. Your Username (or Login ID) on the Frisco Lakes website can be anything (as long as it is unique). Your Username (or Login ID) on Active Net is always your email address.
If you have turned in your new homeowner paperwork and have a badge and a fob, you have an Active Net account. You must request an account on the Frisco Lakes website by going to www.friscolakes.net, clicking on CREATE NEW ACCOUNT, and filling out the information. An email will then be sent to our Administrative Coordinator who will confirm you are a resident. The Administrative Coordinator will email you when your account has been created.
