Nutrition Nugget: Fruits
The Fruit Group includes all fruits and 100% fruit juice. Fruits may be fresh, frozen, canned, or dried/dehydrated. Fruits can be eaten whole, cut up, pureed (mashed), or cooked. At least half of the recommended amount of fruit eaten should come from whole fruit, rather than 100% fruit juice.
Eating fruit has many health benefits. People who eat fruits and vegetables as part of an overall diet may lower their risk for certain diseases. Fruits have many essential nutrients that many people do not get enough of including potassium, fiber, vitamin C, and folate.
Read more about Fruits.
Time to test your knowledge with this Fruits Quiz.
WANT MORE? Each week this month, there will be a Nutrition Nugget followed by a quick quiz. Find the next nugget on Sunday's weekly email blast.

Frisco Lakes Website vs. Active Net
The Community Association office receives a number of questions about the Frisco Lakes website (www.friscolakes.net) versus Active Net. These are two separate websites. Active Net is the activity registration website. Your Username (or Login ID) on the Frisco Lakes website can be anything (as long as it is unique). Your Username (or Login ID) on Active Net is always your email address.
If you have turned in your new homeowner paperwork and have a badge and a fob, you have an Active Net account. You must request an account on the Frisco Lakes website by going to www.friscolakes.net, clicking on CREATE NEW ACCOUNT, and filling out the information. An email will then be sent to our Administrative Coordinator who will confirm you are a resident. The Administrative Coordinator will email you when your account has been created.
