Fruit of the Week:
North Texas Strawberries
The North Texas strawberry season is almost over...grab yours this Saturday at the Frisco Rotary Farmers Market!
The North Texas strawberry season is unbelievably short. Just when you get used to the sweet, juicy strawberries they aren't available anymore! They're a fragile fruit requiring special soil conditions and they don't hold up well in the Texas heat.

That said, the ones I bought last Saturday at the market were UNBELIEVABLE! Sweet, juicy and sooo red! I found myself going to my produce bin in the refrigerator several times a day to pick one out and imbibe.

I don't have a recipe for strawberries this week because I can't think of anything else to do with them except just eat them, put them on top of ice cream, or put them on pound cake with whipped cream!

Vendor Profile:
Tacodeli
Tacodeli offers fresh, locally sourced breakfast and lunch tacos at the Frisco Rotary Farmers Market every Saturday. Add a cup of coffee from the Barking Owl Coffee Company (available at the Rotary Booth) and you have breakfast at the market!
Inspired by memories of great food from his childhood in Mexico City, Tacodeli founder and owner Roberto Espinosa opened Tacodeli in 1999. In a little taqueria tucked away near the Barton Springs Greenbelt in Austin, Texas he created unique tacos made from fresh and locally sourced ingredients. Together, Roberto and co-owner Eric Wilkerson have built a team of people who share their passion for quality ingredients, creating exceptional food, and building community.
Tacodeli is committed to supporting local farmers. They source their meats and produce from local, organic vendors.
Whenever Tacodeli enters a new market they look for local farmers markets to participate in. After all, what better way to connect with like minded people who love to eat local, want to know the people who grow their food and socialize while shopping! Tacodeli opened their "close to Frisco" location at 8442 Parkwood Blvd., Suite 700, Plano and are open daily from 7:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Their commitment to local farmers markets is summed up on their website as: We love to support shopping local and eating local. Now you can combine both when you attend your neighborhood Farmers Market. Enjoy a selection of our specialty tacos including breakfast, veggie and gluten-free options.
Come shop, support your local farmers and let us serve you some delicious tacos made completely with local produce and meats. Buen provecho!
Tacodeli breakfast tacos come with salsa (mild, medium and spicy!) You can also buy the salsas at their booth.
Tacodeli breakfast offerings include sausage egg and cheese, bacon egg and cheese, migas and a vegan offering. Lunch includes sirloin, chicken and vegan tacos.
Tacodeli is at the Frisco Rotary Farmers Market every Saturday. Stop by and enjoy breakfast or lunch!
