"David Hackl's Audi Quattro has such a unique sound. It's one of the few cars that we can tell what's coming around the corner just from the wonderful turbo noises it makes. I love seeing such a classic rally car tackle our favorite mountain."

The partnership between Yokohama Tire and the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is seven years strong, and counting. In addition to thrilling consumer and partner activations throughout the week, Yokohama prides itself on bringing the energy to Fan Fest, and hot coffee and pizzas to partner teams and families on race day.
One of Yokohama’s many automotive partners at Pikes Peak is Porsche Motorsport North America. Yokohama is the exclusive tire supplier of the Pikes Peak GT4 Trophy by Yokohama division.
“The partnership with Pikes Peak has exceeded all expectations,” said Patricia Wall, Yokohama’s motorsports senior manager. “We’ve achieved unprecedented success on the mountain thanks to our manufacturer partnerships, the drivers, the vehicles and our ADVAN tires. This partnership fits perfectly with Yokohama’s objective in providing our customers with an excellent platform to see how our ADVAN tires continually prove they can handle Pikes Peak’s many difficult scenarios and win.”

Meet Peter Freytag
PPIHC Board Member
“I joined the Pikes Peak Hill Climb Board just over three decades ago. I had an interest in racing and I owned a number of vintage race cars. I was also involved in the Rocky Mountain Vintage Racing organization.
As the Senior Vice President & CFO of the Penrose St. Francis Healthcare System at the time, I also brought a financial perspective to the PPIHC. Within a year I was elected to the Treasurer’s position and held subsequent Board positions, including Chairman for the 78th and 79th Runnings. During that time the Organization rebranded itself as the Pikes Peak 'International' Hill Climb to the racing community bringing in racers from around the globe.
During my tenure as Board Chairman, I raised the funding needed to create the PPIHC Mobile Museum to replace the permanent museum which had been closed. That truck and trailer were branded with race graphics, thanks to my sister, Lisa, a graphic artist. The mobile exhibit traveled to car shows, Fan Fest and many community events showcasing the race and educating the public about its history.
While I've served on the board behind the scenes, I enjoy experiencing the race in person. It’s great to be on the mountain watching it unfold, year after year. Nothing beats the excitement of race day.”

LONDON TO BRIGHTON
Angelica Fuentes-Garcia, former PPIHC competitor, and Keith Mainland, completed the 2024 London to Brighton Veteran Car Run on November 3rd.
More than 350 pre-1905 cars participated this year in the oldest organized motoring event in the world; this year marking the 127th running.
Keith and Angelica took part for the 11th year in their 120-year-old, 1904 Orient Buckboard, made in Wrentham Massachusetts.
| Fuentes-Garcia was co-driver/navigator for Doug Mockett in 2008 and 2009 in the Rocky Mountain Vintage Racers (RMVR) division. They raced a fan-favorite 1954 Oldsmobile Super 88 to a division win in '08 in 14:26.034; and second place in 2009. | |
TRIVIA ANSWER:
C. A.J. Foyt was not an Honorary Referee in 1964. And while he has never competed on Pikes Peak, he has made a lasting impact on the world of motorsports.
