"My story begins in Hungary, where I was born and raised. As I grew up, my adventurous spirit led me to London, England where I spent many years and eventually graduated with a bachelor's degree in European Theatre Arts from Rose Bruford College. Storytelling, in all its forms, has always been my passion, whether it was through writing poems, singing, or directing theatre plays, I knew the road would always lead me to this art form.

Following this, I spent the next few years in the Middle East, where I worked for Emirates Airlines. Those years were filled with incredible experiences and a real sense of global connection. But the pull of new stories and landscapes eventually led me here, to Colorado Springs where I can continue my journey of telling captivating stories through the art of Video Editing.

I'm incredibly grateful to be surrounded by the stunning scenery and the inspiring, rich history of this beautiful city and the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. The sheer volume of stories surrounding this iconic race is incredible. I'm excited to delve into the hundreds of narratives that make up its history and bring them to life."

EXPLORING HISTORY

STOCK CARS IN THE 1950s

In 1956, stock cars returned to the mountain for the first time since 1934, taking Pikes Peak by storm. All entries but two were either Chevrolet, Ford or Pontiac. A lone Studebaker and one Packard also entered. Fans could relate to these race cars which were based on those they could see at their local dealership. They could almost picture themselves behind the wheel!

In 1956, Jerry Unser, Jr., the second generation of Unsers to race on Pikes Peak, drove his '56 Chevy to a division record in 16:08.00. The former record, set by Buster Hammond more than 20 years earlier was bested by over two and a half minutes.

Unser wasn't finished either. He returned the following year bettering his record to 15:39.20.

Unser returned in 1958, hoping to make it three in a row, but scored a DNF after a race day rollover.

Local driver, Nick Sanborn, Jr. would claim the win in '58 after running second to Unser the previous year. His #99 Pontiac clocked a 15:49.70.

Sanborn's second win came in '59 in a Chevrolet. Tragically, Jerry Unser, Jr., lost his life after an Indy 500 practice run when he suffered a serious crash at the famed speedway. His family created the Jerry Unser, Jr. Memorial Trophy, which was awarded to Sanborn for his 1959 Stock Car win. Jerry's widow, Jeanne, presented the trophy following the race.

It's interesting to note that one of Jeanne's sons, Johnny, would eventually race on Pikes Peak. Further, Jeanne's granddaughter is Loni Unser, who will be competing in the PPIHC once again in June. Loni is the first fourth-generation Unser to race on the mountain.
