MATH TESTS BELOW.
From 3rd Grade Student
to Mathnasium Instructor - Charlotte
Charlotte in April 2019
In October of 2013, we were preparing for the opening of our first center, and a mom and her young son walked into the center. She was very excited to see that we were opening soon and was ready to sign her daughter Charlotte up for the program!
"It just been such a positive experience for our family!"
Charlotte was in 3rd grade at a Charter School and STEM was a big priority for this family. Charlotte was our very first student enrolled (about a year later, her brother Felix was old enough to join too), and she is still part of our program!

Charlotte had many interests, math wasn't her favorite. She came to the center daily with a smile on her face and was willing to work hard to succeed. Had her parents not put this support in place, she would have easily become a student who would have likely fallen through the cracks in math. Charlotte ultimately switch to public school and was placed in an accelerated math track, and although still not her favorite subject, she did very well earning As in the course. Homework support was a huge benefit.
"If there was anything that didn't make sense in class, it's always reinforced in Mathnasium. If they have any questions about their homework, it's always addressed. It's just been such a positive experience for our family."
- Charlotte's Mom -
Because we knew Charlotte and her family so well, we gave her the guidance last year that she should take Pre-Calculus rather than shifting to Statistics because of her plans to becoming a business major. She hated this recommendation, but again has earned an A in the course and will be a far more competitive business school applicant (as long as she takes Calculus next year!).

Here's the amazing finish - Charlotte is now a Math Instructor! She also is putting her interest in marketing to good use helping us in this aspect of the business as well. With longevity, we can nurture these relationships to help our students grow to their highest potential. What's your Mathnasium journey?
JANUARY STUDENTS OF THE WEEK
Our Mathnasium students are amazing! The following students have been singled out by their instructors for specific achievements during the month of January 2021.
East Round Rock

Italy D.
"My student of the week is Italy D. Last week she told me at school she was having trouble with adding/subtracting negative integers, so we worked on it during that lesson. Since then, she has received a pk over that subject matter and she has improved so much! During our lesson today she was able to get through 3 pages full of practice problems without as much difficulty. So proud of all her hard work and positive attitude! Go Italy!"

Valeria
"I wanted to highlight Valeria for her work last week! We started working on Exponent Patterns, including negative exponents and she picked them up super quickly! She always impresses me with how bright she is, and her enthusiasm for learning and truly understanding new concepts makes her an excellent student! I want to express to her and her parents how much I enjoy getting to work with her (and her sister as well)!"

Novie
"My student of the week from last week would have to be Novie. She's so hard-working and motivated! She's always improving. She is doing particularly well at learning linear equations currently, which can be a really challenging concept. Additionally, Novie is very polite, and it is a joy to get to work with her."

Madeleine W
"Madeleine W. blew through the packets and picked up new topics very quickly, working very hard when I was with other students. She also remains very motivated throughout all of her sessions."

Georgetown

Samantha B.
"If there is one student who consistently works hard week after week it would have to be Samantha B. Whether we are in a 1 on 1 session, or I have to jump around in a 3 on 1 session, Samantha is always on task and works her hardest every session. Not only does she stay on task and produce good work, she is always excited to learn more and asks very intelligent questions that show me she has not only a passion for math but learning in general. I always enjoy working with her because it is obvious she likes our sessions and wants to be there, and never gets distracted. She is polite, intelligent, and very hard working. Definitely one of my best students."
Staar Test Preparation For Math
Staar testing will be here before you know it. In an effort to reduce your child's anxiety and build a mindset that allows them to do their best on test day, we will be offering some sample math tests to help prepare them for the real thing. We will be featuring 3rd-5th grade this month and 6th-8th plus Algebra 1 in March.
