December, 2017 - In This Issue:
From the Desk of Our Executive Director
As the year ends and 2017 comes to a close, I look back on the past 12 months with pride. I'm proud of our state and county in continuing to push for rights for all families in Alameda County to have access to quality, affordable early care and education. I'm proud of 4Cs of Alameda County in staying true to our mission of developing and coordinating resources to strengthen families and children while continuing to focus on the vision we have for our agency that by 2020, 4Cs of Alameda County will be known for providing innovative, comprehensive programs and leading community collaborations that empower all families to thrive. I am also unbelievably proud of our 4Cs staff for working tirelessly with parents, child care providers, and community members to ensure access to child care, quality support, resources, health and nutrition services, and free tax preparation and filing is available to all Alameda County families. Lastly, I am proud of you. Our supporters, funders, community members, families, and child care providers are key to our success - so thank you! To find out more about our accomplishments this year, please view our 2017 Impact Report. We look forward to celebrating 45 years of 4Cs serving the Alameda County community in the new year.

With Pride,

In Loving Memory
Celebrating the Life and Light of Linda Bringman

For more than a decade Linda Bringman dedicated her professional life to 4Cs of Alameda County. Starting out as a 4Cs' Training Coordinator, Linda was responsible for offering hundreds of informative and impactful workshops for early care and education professionals. In her later years at 4Cs, Linda managed Provider Programs in 4Cs' Resource and Referral department, helping child care providers increase the quality of their programs, begin or expand their child care business, and provide any and all support they needed. Linda always had a smile on her face, an open door, an ear to listen, and was always a willing walking partner for her colleagues at 4Cs. She was passionate about the care and education of young children and supporting families, and was active in many groups including the East Bay Association for the Education of Young Children. In fall of 2016, Linda retired from 4Cs to be closer to her daughter and newborn granddaughter in Chicago. In a devastating accident, Linda passed away Thanksgiving weekend this year. Her spirit, smile, and influence on the ECE community in Alameda County will be missed but never forgotten. 4Cs has created a memorial on our Facebook Page in honor of Linda. We welcome you to leave a memory, story, or picture that will be shared with Linda's loved ones.
