Social media has become a sounding board for people and their opinions. It has opened the door for every Facebook philosopher and Instagram intellectual to irresponsibly voice their opinions on things that they lack the experience, wisdom, or even common sense to speak on. While I do believe that everyone deserves a voice, I don’t think that
everyone deserves a platform for their voice. The illusions that social media create are causing people to be very easily misled. The wrong opinion, from the wrong voice, on a big enough platform, is dangerous.
Since we’re clear that social media is an illusion, the real question is, how does this all translate to real life? Well, the lines between social media and real life have become blurred. It seems that people are overzealously volunteering opinions that no one asked for. And it wouldn’t be such a problem if they were offering advice. But there is a huge difference between opinions and advice.

When you give a person advice, it is something that is best for that person. But when you give them your opinion, it is something that is best for you. Your opinion is based off of your personal feelings, your history, and your way of handling things. It completely
discounts that person and what they may be feeling. Your way of doing things is yours. The best way to give a person advice is by first understanding that this is not about you. Refrain from using phrases such as, “Well if I was you,” or, “If I were in your shoes.” The fact is, you aren’t them, nor are you in their shoes. It is your responsibility in that moment to give them what they need. It may require you asking questions to better understand how they think and feel. Once you have that information you will be better
equipped to help them use the tools that they already possess to make a decision. So if you really want to help, keep your opinion to yourself. Just my word of advice.-Tyrell

Speech of the Grammy Award-winning group Arrested Development has unveiled his first solo EP in 14 years, Expansion Pt. 1.To coincide with the release, the veteran hip-hop luminary has puta spotlight on the single “Just Too Cold,” which features burgeoning producer MRK SX, frequent collaborator Rambo and Danny B. It marksa triumphant return to Speech’s producer/DJ origins in Milwaukee.“It’s fresh from that jazz influence of earlier hip-hop like A Tribe Called Quest, DJ Jazzy Jeff and Fresh Prince, Stetsasonic or Gang Starr but totally new in its approach,” Speech says. “Plus, I felt itwas refreshing to hear me — the ‘Mr. Wendal’ dude — actually spitting more and going back to my hip-hop roots as a producer and DJin Milwaukee. I was producing all the best rap artists back then,and this is going back to those roots.”“Just Too Cold” was inspired by the Harlem Renaissance of the 1920sand celebrates a spirit of self-determination, self-worth, divine providence, pride and social consciousness.
