During the month of November, we become anxious as the weather changes, we realize Thanksgiving is almost here, Christmas is around the corner and the year nears its end. There are so many things for us to think about and prepare for.
I personally love November because of the Thanksgiving holiday. It is my favorite because it represents family, love, relationships and gratitude, which are all things we take for granted.
For me the true meaning of Thanksgiving focuses on taking time with family, friends and love ones; to eat too much, laugh and share all the things we are grateful for. To gather in unity, is always refreshing and invigorating for me. It is a time to reconcile our differences. Being with family and loved ones should be refueling to find strength and hope for the future as well as a time of healing.
I love the stories shared; some true and some embellished, the laughter and also the misery from eating way too much for the future.
Life does not give us only good circumstances, but we must also deal with hurt, and pain, and negative experiences. It becomes hard to be thankful when things go wrong. But it is still a command. Give thanks in all circumstances. That’s how we become strong.
With so much hate in our world today, I encourage each of you to reach out to a family member, a friend or love one and share how grateful you are to have them in your life. Remember every moment is precious and that we do not get do overs. We should all be thankful that we are here to share and embrace each other on this Thanksgiving.
Please cherish your day and I would like to wish you and your family a very happy Thanksgiving!
