John came to the priesthood after a career in media/design. His university training (2002) was in Digital Media with a focus on Computer Animation and a minor in Illustration. John moved into freelance and corporate web design.
The call to priesthood led John to Virginia Theological Seminary where he received the Master of Divinity degree, with an emphasis on Spirituality. After ordination in 2020, he accepted a call to serve as Priest-in-Charge at
St. Thomas a Becket Episcopal Church in the Diocese of West Virginia. His background in digital media was a gift during the pandemic as we all transitioned to online worship.
John is passionate about faith formation and spiritual growth, art and writing, and experiencing the sacred in community. "My deep joy is walking with people through their spiritual journeys—preaching and teaching theology and scriptures as tools of transformation—and collaborating toward a resurrection world through beauty, contemplation, and action."
John has been married to Miriam for 21 years. They are the parents of four children: Elise (18), Will (14), Seth (12), and Dietrich (8). I ask your prayers for John and his family as they make their way to Milford. Prayers, too, for Trinity Episcopal Church as they celebrate this new beginning.
