Announcement from the Rt. Rev. Douglas J. Fisher
Clergy-in-Charge for The Church of the Good Shepherd, Clinton
Friends,

The people of The Church of the Good Shepherd , Clinton have called Ann Scannell to serve as clergy-in-charge. Ann is a candidate for Holy Orders and we anticipate her ordination to the transitional diaconate on Saturday, December 15 at All Saints Episcopal Church, Worcester. Ann will serve as deacon-in-charge effective January 1, 2019 following the retirement of the Rev. Dr. William Bergmann , long-time rector.
The Reverend Dr. William Bergmann

Will has served Good Shepherd faithfully for over 15 years. Since 2003 he has led our interreligious and ecumenical efforts as representative to the Massachusetts Council of Churches Board of Directors and diocesan Ecumenical and Interreligious Officer. In that capacity, Will served two terms as the Province I Coordinator for ecumenical and interreligious work in the Episcopal Church. Will has also enriched our liturgical life as a member of the Liturgical Commission. I am deeply grateful for his leadership among us and wish him every grace and blessing on the next chapter ahead.
Ann Frances Scannell
Ann discerned her call to priesthood with the people of St. Francis' Episcopal Church, Holden where she served on the vestry and as a Eucharistic Visitor. She is currently pursuing the Master of Divinity degree at Yale Divinity School/Berkeley Divinity School and will graduate in May of 2019.

Ann's first vocation was the law. After an undergraduate degree in Government from Harvard University, Ann attended Suffolk University Law School in Boston. She received the J.D. in 1989. Ann's practice has encompasses several areas, but has, for the past eleven years, centered on special education matters for families.

Ann will be serving as deacon-in-charge until she is ordained a priest in June, God willing and the people consenting, when she’ll become priest-in-charge.
Ann comes to ordained ministry with many gifts and experiences all of which will make her a blessing to the people of Good Shepherd. I ask your prayers for the people there as they share final months with Will and look forward to Ann's coming in the new year.

+ Doug
