Dear People of the Diocese of Chicago:

Just a few moments ago, the Diocese of Ohio announced that the Rev. Anne Jolly, president of our Standing Committee and rector of St. Gregory’s, Deerfield, is one of three candidates to be the 12th Bishop of Ohio. I am delighted that the search committee for Ohio has recognized in Anne the grace, good humor, and gifts for leadership that have helped us in Chicago navigate our long and unexpected transition. The election in Ohio will be held during that diocese’s annual convention, November 18 and 19, which is the same weekend as our diocesan convention. Anne and her husband, David, will travel to Ohio to meet the people of the diocese in October. Between now and then, join me in praying for Anne and for the people of Ohio as they continue their discernment and seek to hear the Holy Spirit calling them into God’s future.
