Little church in Moscow with a big heart for people!
The Good News church  in Moscow is a part of Calvary Fellowship that I lead. The church is small but very unique.  Mainly older women - babushkas - are so dedicated to Christ . Most of them just memorise Scripture because they love it so much. On the video above you see 3 babushkas praying scriptures before the service starts.  And Svetlana in the middle  (the one that was healed from late stage cancer ) is a walking Scripture. ))
Pastor Evgueny is pastor and my assistant in the Fellowship of Churches.
The church is not big but they send their money and clothing to our villages all across Russia . Generous people , praying every Sunday for all the missionaries and pastors of our fellowship. One of the most generous churches I have been.
Pastor Evgueniy's story! From the Soviet Army to God's Family!

Colonel who betrayed his wife!
Evgueniy was a colonel in the Soviet Army making a brilliant caree r living with his wife Irina i n a military base in the south of Russia . But his weakness were women. And finally at the age of 40 he gave up his military career, left his wife and moved to Riga - capital Latvia ( one of the former Soviet Union republics) where he and his mistress lived together . 
What is this music in the tent?
 One day he went for a walk in old Riga . It is a very beautiful historic city . And there in the park he heard music and saw a tent set right in the middle of a park. Curious Evgueniy decided to go inside the tent and listen to the songs. All of them were about God and Jesus. Being an atheist, Evgueniy smiled and kept listening . After several songs a nice looking young man named Peter came on stage and began to preach the Gospel. Evgueniy listene d - his mind was arguing every word but something in his heart was nagging him. At the end  an altar call was given and many people came forward to pray . 
  Evgueniy was a siting on his bench and did not move.  Pastor announced that tomorrow also there will be a meeting in the tent.  
Evgueniy gave his heart to the Lord!
  When Evgueny came home to his mistress , He could not stop thinking about  what happened in the tent .  During the night he was tossing , could not sleep.  Next day Evgueniy was one of the first in the tent  waiting for the songs and preaching . He came forward during altar call and crying he gave his life to the Lord.
 He was so transformed that he could not continue leaving in sin with the woman that was not his wife. 
  Family restored!
He called his wife Irina and told her that his life is changed , that t here’s God who loves him so much that He sent His Son Jesus to redeem him. To his shock Irina began to laugh and told Evgueniy HER STORY.
 Right after he left her for another woma n, she was so distressed and broken and soon was invited by a lady friend to the church service  where she gave her life to the Lord. Since the day of her conversion s he prayed EVERY DAY for her husband to Come to the Lord and return to her. So , her was answered!
 What a miracle !

  Husband and wife - students at the Bible school!
During that time American missionaries started the very first Bible school in Latvia outside Riga in Jelgava - and Pastor Peter recommended Evgueniy to enroll. So Evgueniy b rought Irina to Jelgava and together they became students .  
  And this is where I met them. I was an interpreter  at that time at the Bible school.
After they graduated they were called by God to move to Moscow and lead the church .
