Hello Members of West Nash!
As the summer begins, it is time for the choir to start working on music for our annual summer concert on July 14th at 6:00 p.m
This is the perfect time to join the choir as we are starting all new music! This Wednesday at 6:30 we will have a huge rehearsal with the students from ECU School of Music where you get all music for the upcoming concert and the Sunday’s leading up! :-) This is the perfect rehearsal for you to see what kind of music we work on!
There is nothing I love more than church music. Since I was 12, I have been involved in the church music ministry because it was there that I was able to worship God to my full extent. Being the choir director at West Nash gives me the opportunity to share my love of sacred music with so many wonderful people. At choir rehearsals on Wednesday’s, we not only learn fantastic music, proper singing technique, and do crazy warm ups, we take time to look at the text of the music and discuss what it means to us and how to apply it to our everyday walk with God. We try our best every Sunday morning to bring you closer to the worship with our music because it is never about performing in church, it is about worshiping God through music.
There are no requirements needed to join the choir! You do not even have to be able to read music and if this is your first choir experience then you will be welcomed with open arms! We have lots of fun, learn lots of great music, and more importantly, we are one big happy family!
We meet every Wednesday from 6:30-8:30. We usually let our early at around 8:00 but for special rehearsals we go a little longer!
Sunday morning call times start at 9:20 but most Sundays we meet at 9:30 for warms-ups and rehearsal for the service!
Ask any of the choir members who currently serve as members and they will tell you that there is not one time on Wednesday night or Sunday morning that we do not have a good laugh!
If you are interested in joining the choir please feel free to contact me at any time! Ask any questions you have and I will give you the best answer possible! :-)
