Setting the Course and

Giving Thanks!

"We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you..."

(Colossians 1:3)

Hello!

I usually labor with the content of the first sentence or two of updates and articles I write. Its been said that when writing anything - from book chapters to personal letters - the opening and closing thoughts hold specific importance. In considering what approach to take for this piece, my immediate thought was to express our thanks to you but also to say that though I don't personally know the majority of those who receive our updates, everyone who receives them is prayed for.

Since there are no coincidences or accidents with God then it is no mistake that at some point you would subscribe to these updates and then subsequently open this email today. Anytime the Lord arranges relationships and connections between His children you can trust that such a synchronism is not happenstance. So, thank you for aligning with God in this relationship with us. We are praying for you and thank the Lord for you!

Its been our tradition that the last week of each year is our only set fundraising time for the ministry. Its a week when the support of our friends and partners helps us determine the direction we must take to best secure the future of the ministry. To say it best, the support we receive this week sets the financial course for the first half of next year. It determines the speed and viability of projects planned for the future and it allows us to concentrate our efforts upon what is feasible to accomplish.

Put very simply, the income that's directed to the ministry as the year closes indicates if we'll be able to focus on the various studio projects that we want and need to finish or whether I should plan on traveling more and thus secure needed income. Honestly, its one or the other as I cannot produce video media if I am out on the road away from the various elements needed.

This is a very tangible reason why monthly support of our work is so meaningful. Now don't misread that. I want to be out traveling in ministry. I am called to do that. But to be successful in what we and our board of directors determined some eight years ago - that is to produce video to reach those who could never hear me "live and in person" - I need to be stationary for goodly blocks of time. PLUS, with Melanie's declining health, my rightful place is to be home and to be selective about where and when I do travel out to minister. (I have wonderful help from my oldest granddaughter but it is my responsibility to care for Melanie's needs.)

With all of that said, your donations, whether large or small, are all appreciated and needed. Thank you for praying for us and the various outreaches of the ministry. And again, as the Apostle stated, "We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you..."
