Behind the Screens
Check out some work in progress pictures for a water intake screen we did for one of our customers recently. Our team was able to custom manufacture their intake screen to their exact requirements. A 24" elbow with flange and over 119" pipe, it was one of the largest screens Federal Screen has fabricated. An airburst cleaning system was also included as part of the intake screen to allow for easy maintenance. Screens are 316(b) compliant and are designed to ensure a constant flow velocity to improve protection of wildlife while reducing costs.
Employee Spotlight - Ralph

Meet Ralph, an Engineering extraordinaire! He's been drafting and designing at Federal Screen Products since 2005. Responsible for breaking down the orders as well as producing and creating all the drawings, he plays a key role in ensuring that information is approved before manufacturing begins. This blueprint is crucial to ensure all products are fabricated to our customers' specifications. Previously to Federal Screen, Ralph worked in the elevator industry in sales and engineering for 10 years. He describes himself as easy to get along, yet picky. He knows what he wants and is not afraid to put up a friendly debate. He loves his job as it gives him the opportunity to be with his thoughts and the creativity in designing and drawing technical information. He also loves the people at FSP. Our team is very important to us, and we’re happy that Ralph has been a part of our family for so many years!
