Now Seeking: Small Business Committee Chair

The Chamber is seeking a volunteer leader to serve as Chair of the Small Business Committee (SBC). This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting San José’s small business community and strengthening the region’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. The Chair will help guide key initiatives, convene local business leaders, and shape the Chamber’s small business strategy for the year ahead.

SB 84 Remains Top Priority for Chamber 

As we head into the new year, one of the Chamber’s top priorities remains SB 84 — a bill that would give small businesses 120 days to fix certain accessibility issues before they can be sued.



Right now, many businesses are getting hit with lawsuits without any warning. SB 84 aims to give owners a fair chance to make corrections first, rather than facing immediate legal costs. We’re continuing to meet with elected officials and gather stories from businesses affected by these claims to show why this change is urgently needed. City Committee Update: Housing & Economic Development 

The City’s Community & Economic Development Committee recently received updates on two priority focus areas: "Build More Housing" and “Growing Our Economy.” City staff from each respective department presented their annual work plans and outlined progress to date, each underscoring the City’s continued focus on advancing housing delivery while strengthening the local business climate.
