From Italy to Eleos!!
Plus meet our other new staff
Phil Pace
Formerly a missionary to Italy through Avant Ministries, Phil is now joining the Eleos team! Phil has a heart for building relationships and ministering to those in need. He is also an accomplished musician and serves part-time as worship director at Gashland Evangelical Presbyterian Church in north Kansas City, where he lives with his wife Donna (who serves at Avant Headquarters) and his family. Phil will be spending some time behind the counter as a barista, and then also engaging in a variety of other ministry roles.
WHAT ELSE IS HAPPENING AT ELEOS?
The Gospel & Responsible Living
Our objective is to help meet the spiritual and physical needs of the folks in the neighborhood around Eleos. We feel that our daily Bible studies have been a great way to share Christ and build up the faith of those who attend. We are so thankful for our faithful Bible study teachers who open the Word and teach with much patience and kindness, so that those who come can understand and apply the passages. We have seen a lot of spiritual fruit from these studies!

You are always welcome to visit our Bible study class at Eleos at 10am, Tuesday through Saturday; or our ladies' group on 1 st, 2 nd, and 4 th Fridays at 11:30am.

As we attempt to meet specific needs of folks who come in asking for assistance, our focus this year is to be even more intentional in helping the homeless move toward getting off the streets, finding jobs, and living responsibly. This takes a lot of one-on-one time, and we are excited to see Phil Pace join Jennifer Boyd, Dan Bosse, and Dan Smith in working with individuals in these areas. Please pray with us that God would enable people to take these steps of obedience to Him!
Continue to pray for Sean & Joni Adams and family as they serve in Detroit MI. To request Detroit up-dates click here.
Baristas & Bakers!
We are also excited to welcome Ishi Stackpole, who recently joined us and is doing great work behind the counter with recipe development for soup and sandwiches, as well as serving joyfully in ministry both at Eleos and at her church, Gashland Evangelical Presbyterian. Ishi is married to her awesome husband Chris.
You may have met our new baker and barista Jessie Kleier, who is planning to eventually go into overseas missions with her husband Josh. They attend Liberty Baptist Church. We are enjoying Jessie's great baking and service at the shop for as long as we have her!
Patience Nield joins the baristas from our neighborhood right here in the Northeast! Patience has a contagious smile, and a heart for God and for missions.
If you haven't met these new staff members, stop by the shop and welcome them to ministry and service in the Northeast!
Financial Partners Needed
We need additional financial partners to enable us to engage the lost more effectively in Northeast KCMO and Detroit Michigan. In order for us to minister, our staff has to be larger than what the coffee business can support. Would you prayerfully consider partnering with us financially? Down the Road...
We are praying about obtaining a food truck for Eleos to use for both business and ministry opportunities. We think it could be a great way to be available for business in different parts of the city or for special church events. And we love the idea of also using the food truck for ministry in parts of the city where we could engage needy communities and serve free coffee, pastries and soup and lead our daily Bible study on-site. Please pray with us that God would give clear direction about this and provide for us financially if He wants us to move forward.
