Volume VIII Spring 2019
It’s that time of year—bathing suit season! Not one of us (me included) is immune to “bathing suit anxiety.” You know. The feeling you get when you try your bathing suit on for the first time all year.

I want to make that first reveal a little less stressful for you. There is a plethora of books and articles telling us what not to eat for weight loss. These nutritional powerhouses will help you get bathing suit ready—but more importantly, help you to build health for life.

Patients like Jane are the reason I love what I do so much. She was on the cusp of becoming a full blown diabetic, but trusted the process and me.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE DIABETIC IF YOU ARE PRE- DIABETIC! You can reverse this insidious disease. Jane just received her lastest A1C (a diabetic marker). She went from 6.3 to 5.9 in 3 months!! There are even greater things to come.

Read, my patient, Jane's story of reversing diabetes by nutrition:

"For years I had been told I had prediabetes and would ‘eventually become a diabetic.’ I am at an ideal body weight, exercise vigorously 10-11 hours per week. There is no family history of diabetes. I attempted to follow ADA guidelines (although not completely compliant) and my A1c worsened over time. At my last visit to my primary care I was encouraged to start Metformin. Thankfully my PCP was amenable to me seeing a nutritionist first. I found Lindy and what a blessing. For the first time I understood insulin resistance. My denial is gone. Her guidelines were clear and the approach resonated with me. I consider this a true turning point for my overall health and I will be forever grateful for Lindy’s expertise, patience, humor and kindness. I recommend her without hesitation."
I chose this EASY recipe because it has THREE of the Super Foods mentioned in the above article. It’s a good one!

Yes, I believe in nutritional supplementation, but with CAUTION.

This is not an FDA regulated industry and quality is of utmost importance. I only use a few companies I’ve researched in my practice. Supplementation supercharges and enhances a good diet and can be used therapeutically.

Lindy Ford understands the power of nutrition personally. Several years ago she applied nutritional protocols to overcome a debilitating health crises.

This is one of the reasons Lindy’s passion is helping people achieve greater freedom through wellness and nutrition. She holds a degree in Nutritional Science and Dietetics from the University of Maryland. Lindy also holds a degree in Theatre / Communications from Towson University (weird, she knows). She is a Registered Dietitian and Licensed Nutritionist.

Lindy loves her job. She runs a private nutrition practice in Wilmington, NC, but counsels people all over the US through video conferencing. Lindy practices functional/integrative nutrition or “what works nutrition.” The goal is to get to the root of the problem and then base treatment on up-to-date science. This approach takes longer, but the results are superior and long-lasting.

Lindy’s patients have particularly benefited from her expertise in issues related to blood sugar, heart disease, weight control, the GI system and the thyroid.
