1)     Two Jumuah Prayers have started at MCC-Elston. The first Jumuah Khutbah is at 1:05 and the second Jumuah Khutbah is at 2:05 . Please come for the second Jumuah so we can comfortably accommodate you with parking and space in the Masjid.

12)   SSU (Sisters Steppin Up) :   This organization is for Muslim girls and young women ages 11-25. SSU meets at MCC Academy - Morton Grove campus every Saturday from 12pm-3pm for various activities including sports, volunteer work, halaqas and community building. Each meeting is a $5/person to cover the cost of lunch provided by SSU.

is looking for
Youth and Seniors Coordinator 

Muslim Community Center (MCC) is seeking a "Youth and Senior Coordinator" for our growing and aging American Muslim Community. 

This position will especially focus on the engagement, development and guidance of the youth and seniors in our community through overseeing educational programming, social activities and interfaith outreach. 

QUALIFICATIONS: Applicant must have a degree in education, counseling or social work from the US. Knowledge to start a cohort of youth and seniors with a grounding in Islam. Must be able to interact with and relate to youth and seniors, as well as engage, advocate, teach, mentor and counsel them. 

To that end, the candidate:
  • Must be able to develop youth and senior/educational programs on various topics that serve the community's needs. 
  • Must be able to work with individuals/groups of outside Muslim faith also (such as interfaith, schools, civic, media). 
  • Must be able to deal with a diverse community of all age groups. 
  • Have a good understanding of American culture/traditions, while having a broad perspective of other cultures. 
  • Be a U.S. born/raised or U.S. educated with eligibility to work in the U.S. 
  • Have excellent communication with computer, presentation and interpersonal skills. 
  • Have excellent moral character, flexibility, amiability, patience and wisdom. 
  • Have participated in Religious Council, Sunday Schools, counseling and interfaith activities. 

PREFERRED: 
  • Having worked at other Islamic centers in the U.S. and have led initiatives with benefit to the community. 
  • Having strong leadership skills to empower various segments of a community 
  • Fluency in other languages would be a plus (such as Arabic, Urdu, Spanish or other languages).
